Klaus Buttner
Mr. Klaus Buttner joined the Canadain Trade Commissioner Service in August 2009 as a Senior Trade Commissioner.
Prior to his current position he was Regional Vice-President on Africa, Europe and Middle East.
Mr. Klaus Buttner joined Export Development Canada (EDC) in 1995 as a Financial Services Manager for the Transportation Team. He later assumed the position of Director of the International Relations Group, and in January 2003, was appointed Regional Vice-President.
Prior to joining EDC, Mr. Buttner worked in the Customer Finance Group of Airbus Industrie in Toulouse (France) and the Aerospace Finance Group of Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbauin Frankfurt (Germany).
Mr. Buttner holds business degrees from management schools in Reutlingen (Germany) and Reims (France), as well as an MBA from the Monterey Institute of International Studies(California). Mr. Buttner received his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1999 from the CFA Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia.
